Kylie Jenner Makeup Tutorial

Okay, so I know I'm jumping on the bandwagon seeing as pretty much everyone has done a Kylie Jenner makeup tutorial, but I really wanted to try it out for myself. I've seen so many versions of her makeup and recreations on youtube and because I love her makeup so much I thought it would be worth trying myself.

I took a few images from google to give me inspiration as I went for the typical Kylie Jenner nude lip and neutral eyes look.

Kylie has a flawless face showing no spots or blemishes, so I though it would be best to use a high coverage foundation, concealer and powder. I used Estee Lauder's double wear foundation with MAC studio fix concealer.

It is obvious that Kylie contours her face, however of the family she's usually the most toned down when it comes to bronzers and blushers. In fact it appears she doesn't use blusher at all, or if so only a little amount. I decided to stick to just bronzer and I used the brown shade from my Sleek Face Form palette as it was the perfect colour. I contoured my cheekbones, chin, forehead and slightly down my nose. I made sure not to go too heavy as Kylie is subtle with her use of bronzer. From the same palette I used the highlighter to enhance my cheekbones and the bridge of my nose.

Her eyebrows are very different to mine, so this part was a bit more difficult. She has a chocolate to dark brown shade of eyebrows and they're quite thick even at the very end of them. Her brows are quite high too so I added a pale eyeshadow to my brow bone which helps lift the eyebrows. I used Brow Archery from Soap and Glory in Hot Chocolate and made sure to brush through the brows a few times to give off the natural look which Kylie portrays.

Her eye makeup is actually quite simple. I used the Naked Basics palette as the colours are very neutral and matched up well to the shades Kylie uses. I applied Foxy all over my lid and used Naked 2 in my crease. I blended these together so they weren't two separate block colours. In some photo's Kylie wears liquid liner, but in some she doesn't. Going from the photo's I used for inspiration she has used liner to create a winded line. I concentrated on making the line thicker towards the end and making the flick like a thick triangle. I only used mascara rather than eyelashes because in these photo's her eyelashes aren't particularly long. However, I know she does wear eyelashes a lot of the time - so this look can work with or without.

Now for the lips! Kylie has very big, overdrawn lips. I used a lip liner from Gosh and drew on the top of my lip line. A trick that helps makes your lips look fuller is to draw over the cupid's bow so that the top of your lip is less of a heart shape and is more horizontal. If that doesn't make sense then look at the photo's of Kylie and notice how her top lip isn't as curved or bow shaped, the bow is a lot less obvious. I applied MAC's Velvet Teddy all over the lips. It has been rumoured that Kylie wears this exact lipstick, but in an interview with Kim, she said Kylie wears the lip liners Whirl or Soar from MAC all over her lips. Velvet Teddy is such a beautiful lipstick with a matte finish. I have found that the colour looks different depending on the shade of your lips. On my lips it looks slightly more beige than Kylie's lip colour so I added Revlon's colour burst matte balm in the shade Elusive in the centre of my lips.

10 Quick & Easy Everyday Hairstyles

It's occured to me that I haven't done a hair post at all on my blog, which is strange as I'm obsessed with trying out new hairstyles. This post is going to include some of my easiest everyday hairstyles.

1. Messy curls with an accessory
So for this hairstyle you can either curl your hair with any curling iron or sleep with plaits the night before to create curls without heat, either way this look is supposed to look messy so if using a curling iron I would brush through the curls and add a little texturing spray or hairspray. Once the curls are as you want them, add a hair accessory of your choice.

2. High pony with plaits
Again for this look I wanted curls as they give my pony tail more volume, which can be created by plaits or curlers. I find that high ponytails flatter your face, bringing your hair away from it and personally I prefer them to any other type of ponytail. To make this look less boring I added small little plaits which you can do before or after you tie the hair into the ponytail. You can either tie the plaits (elastic bands are good because they're small and don't show up) or spray them with hairspray and they should stay in place.

3. Two fishtails
I think fishtail plaits are really cute and aren't as hard as they look. I often do one fishtail plait, but if you want to be a little unusual you can try two fishtail plaits at either side of your face which I think looks cute and girly. The easiest way I can explain to doing a fishtail is by dividing your hair into two sections, then take a small part of hair from the outside of one of the sections and cross it over to the other section and repeat this until you reach the bottom of your hair and tie it.

4. Plait to the back of your head
Make sure your hair has been washed and hasn't got any products in it. Use a medium to thick curling wand or straighteners and curl the hair in the same direction smoothing over the curls and taming any frizz with a mousse or spray. Then taking two bits of hair that frame your face at the front pull them back away from the face and plait. When both the plaits join up tie them together with an elastic to secure them.

5. Half up, half down
This can be done with either straight, curly or wavy hair and is stupidly easy. Just pull the top half of your hair back into a high ponytail and leave the rest to hang. I decided to add a scrunchie for a bit of a 90's vibe.

6. Messy bun
Another easy one and probably the laziest hairstyle of these 10. I basically dump my hair onto the top of my head and tie a bun with a hair bobble. I then pull away at bits of hair and scrunch bits up and tuck bits of hair into the bobble. It's quite unpredictable but that is what makes it so messy! I wear this a lot when doing sports or when I'm in a rush and can't be bothered to make any effort with my hair.

7. Sleek and straight
All you'll need for this is a pair of straighteners and some smoothing spray to tame frizz. Additionally I use a heat protectant before straightening, a smoothing soft bristle brush and hairspray but these aren't essential. This look works well with shiny hair and creates a classy glamorous look.

8. Ribbons and a plait
Although it seems difficult this is literally just a plait coming down the side of your face but with a strand of ribbon along with it. I attach this underneath most of my layers of hair with a hair grip and act as though it is another strand of hair.

9. Twisted bun with curls
This hairstyle is very similar to number 4, but rather than making plait you twist the bit of hair at the side of your face until they meet at the back of your head and wind them round one another until there is a bun shape. Then attach it to the head with grips and spritz with a bit of hairspray.

10. Boho accessory
This last hairstyle is a bit more fun and open to interpretation! You can use any hair tool to get the texture you want your hair to be and add a cute boho hair accessory, like this one here which is from Topshop.
